About
I am from Washington State. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I lived in Bellingham for a bit and became an avid mountain biker. In 2019 I moved to Norway. Through my passion for biking I ended up building trails, and getting paid to do so in Norway. That morphed into doing projects in remote or logistically chalenging locations. Alongside this journey, my interest and knowledge about self-hosting, CAD, and system administration has grown. I run a homelab. Docker is great. When I started on this homelabbing adventure, I was very dependent on LLMs. ChatGPT certainly helped me with a lot of problems. As I used ChatGPT blindly, I was able to pull back the curtain and see what was actually going on. At this point I am far beyond blindly trusting LLMs, and have found it’s often faster and better to do things myself. That said, LLMs are a fantastic tool for learning. Claude is my tool of choice these days.
Someday soon I would like to combine my knowledge from construction and my passion for technology and data. I am not sure exactly what that will look like, but I know that it has potential and is a very interesting combination.
